My fiancé gave me a gift card for Rose Ave on my birthday (One of the many reasons why I Love Her) and I finally got the chance to visit their new location near the DC Zoo. Albeit parking may be a bit tricky in the area I suggest you make a couple loops around the residential neighborhood to find street parking. A short walk to and from the bakery wouldn't hurt right? Besides those delicious calories make it all worth it. Lol Expect a crowd especially during the morning rush or brunch hours on weekends. You'll be lucky to find seating, during these hours you'll hardly find a table inside. The staff do their best to accommodate everyone efficiently. I admit to their pastries are on the pricey side but hear me out. You get your money's worth. Their ube and lychee doughnuts are exquisite. Not too sweet just subtly perfect. I would definitely try out their other pastries soon.

Favorite bakery we've been to in DC. I don't remember everything we got but the ube coffee was delicious but too sweet. The pandan and ube filled donuts were delicious and pillowy. I also got a hotdog croissant (?) with cheese and that was one of our other favorites.

This was my second visit to Rose Ave Bakery. It gets quite crowded on weekends, which I think is also a consequence of their shorter hours. I tried the Scallion, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich, and while the egg was a LITTLE dry for my taste, the quality of the bread more than made up for it. The Kouign Amann Mango Sticky Rice was absolutely delicious, though I may be biased since I love mango sticky rice. I found the Brown Sugar Iced Coffee to be average, rating it a 3 out of 5. It could have been better. I would definitely return here for the food & try a different drink

Super worth the hype!!! Amazing ambience with great drinks and dessert :) Finally had a chance to check this place out. Loved the interior design; it was super cute! Some indoor and outdoor seating which I love. Service was fast and friendly. The staff helped us out with a recommendation which we really appreciated! Ended up getting a hibiscus drink, the black sesame donut, lychee strawberry donut, and a matcha latte. Everyone we had was incredible. The donuts weren't too heavy, and the creams instead were light and flavorful. Same can be said about the drinks we got: flavorful but not too sweet or watery. Will totally be back!!

Best donuts in DC in my opinion. Ran into this place sort of on accident. Was looking for my doctors office. In the middle of the week it's not too busy. I got the passion fruit donut and Thai curry tart. Both were exceptional! The donuts aren't too sweet and very fluffy. The Thai curry tart was really really tasty. Exceeded my expectations and had a little bit of heat to it (not much) but enough to add some flavor. Will be back to try the other pastries. Worth the hype!

Haven't been back here in many months since first popping by when they did their soft opening, but definitely foresee many frequent future visits! Love supporting a local Asian American bakery too. The brown sugar latte was perfectly balanced and not too sweet, I instantly knew it was going to be good when I saw the perfect latte shade. The donuts were delicious, I love anything passionfruit flavored and these were sweet and tart. The kouign amann was perfectly flaky, and the brioche donut was very fluffy. The curry butternut squash tart was amazing, very savory, and perfectly flaky. The scallion, egg, and cheese sandwich was also flaky and very savory. Definitely preferred these two over the sweet donuts! I was really looking forward to trying their new fig & prosciutto tart, but apparently that's only available on random weekends. All the more reason to be back again!

Great pastries and coffee. And I love that it's Asian-American owned. There are more seats than I anticipated, but you'll likely have to take your order to-go during peak hours. I tried their black sesame doughnut which had a great texture, but the black sesame was a bit muted for my tastes. Would have liked a bit more punch to it. I'm curious to try their other flavors though. Also had one of their savory pastries which was basically a hot dog wrapped in flake, buttery, delicious pastry. A yummy snack if you're feeling hungrier.

I've been a big fan of Rose Ave bakery since the days they were just a pop-up of sorts in the DC food hall and they released their orders a week in advance online. I've since moved out of the DMV area, but when my wife and I recently came to visit, we knew one of the places we had to try was their true brick and mortar store in AdMo. And we are so glad we did! From before and after they moved locations, I've pretty much tried everything on their menu and everything is great. Seriously. It's a true passion project of incorporating Asian flavors into some amazing baked goods it makes me so so happy. My personal favorite items from the savory side is the hotdog bun and scallion bun. Both are so flaky and buttery and absolutely bangers when they're fresh out of the oven or gently warmed. Sweet side I like their kouign amman and ensaymada. Drinks their banana and ube lattes hit. But again, any flavors and ingredients you like will hit the spot! Line was crazy on a weekend, but it seemed like they never ran out of anything which is great and moved quick enough. If you can catch them on a weekday though, that's more ideal and a lovely space to study/work in. Anyways, not much more I can say about Rose Ave besides it's one of my favorite Asian-American bakeries and probably one of the best bakeries period in the DC area. 10/10, would try.

I tried Rose Ave Bakery years ago when they were just a pop-up at Pike & Rose and their baked goods were just ok, nothing I wanted a repeat of and nothing to go running back for (they had no savory goods or coffee at the time). On our way home from an event, we decided to make a pitstop here. I'm pretty sure I got one of everything on the menu because $72 for 2 coffees and an assortment of pastries is either an expensive breakfast or just breakfast. Banana Saigon Latte - Hubs got the hot and I got the iced. He said he preferred the hot version. I enjoyed my iced and the banana flavor was not terribly intense for me. I did not add any additional sugar or milk/creamer. If you don't enjoy anything with any kind of sugar, you will not enjoy this drink. Pastry Highlights: Thai Curry Tart, Garlicky Scallion Bun, Pandan Coconut Donut, Passion Fruit Kouign-Amann I was really leery of ordering the savory pastries at first, but they were all tasty and none of the flavors were a "kick in the face" like I was prepared for. Ambiance was clean, modern, and plant-friendly. Service was friendly and quick. Do not recommend getting these pastries in advance and serving more than several hours later. Def if you're in the area, this isn't a bad place to stop.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and ventured out for some breakfast. A quick search led me to Rose Ave Bakery. This is obviously a super popular place and it was packed with a long line waiting to order. The line moved fairly quickly and tables turned over at a decent rate. Pastries are packed as you order but drinks take a little longer to be made. I ended up choosing the Szechuan Hotdog Croissant and the Ube Donut. The hotdog pastry was super flaky and the Szechuan mustard had a decent kick to it. My only complaint, if you can call it that, was that it wasn't very warm despite being under a heat lamp. The donut was stuffed with Ube cream, light, fluffy, and sweet without being cloying. Everything tasted great and I recommend it to my coworkers who were also at the same hotel if they were looking for a treat.
